In July/August 2012, the girls and I had a great time with family in PA while Matt had the opportunity to travel to SE Asia to meet several workers. Those events were God provisions in themselves!
The day we left ‘happened’ to be a free meal day at Chick-fil-A: if we dressed like cows, that is. So Matt rearranged our route to hit the Chick-fil-A’s for lunch and dinner and I dressed the family in cow costumes, head to toe, for the sake of 8 free meals. God provided and it was moo-velous! At one Chick-fil-A, someone was dressed in a cow mascot costume, and our oldest expressed her high-pitched surprise each time the cow performed a human-like action (“The cow is JUMPING! It’s WAVING!! It’s going into the KITCHEN!!”) As I write this, she happens to be dressed in her cow costume, moo-ing for a snack.
While in PA, I was able to work more hours while Grandpa and Grandma watched the girls. I also got to reconnect with and learn from several friends. Matt had the opportunity to preach and share about OMF International before he left. We were encouraged to hear from many people who, unknown to us, were praying for us.
Matt came back from his trip with a greater understanding of the field, the kind of help needed, and a refreshed desire to see the nations worship Jesus. He also gained a bigger and clearer vision for his new role with OMF: finding and sending people to Asia with a passion to see God transform whole communities into Jesus-followers.
God provides.
